| :wastegate is closed during the spool up. The only thing that would change is the volume in split downpipe is smaller for the turbine discharge. I can see the HP being increased but the spool up 500 rpm sooner I don't yet believe. I know mine get full boost by 4500 rpm . In stock turbos full boost is at 3500 rpm. I would like to see the dyno curve of the same car with and without the split down pipe. Depending on the turbo, I don't think that the wastegates are always completely closed while building boost. IMO internal wastegates are not as accurate as external. Separating out the wastegates will also minimize any turbulance caused by the exhaust from wastegates so the airflow is nice and fast. The difference between regular downpipes and split DPs is significant enough that you'll feel it in the seat of the pants. Everyone who has gotten the split downpipes will tell you that the spoolup is quicker.
